Getting started with M365 Backup
M365 Backup is rolling out in stages. This page tracks what you can do today and what is coming.
Turn it on
M365 Backup is a Professional-tier module. An administrator enables it from the platform's module settings. Until it is enabled, nothing related to M365 Backup appears anywhere in the app: no settings panel, no company tab, no navigation.
Once enabled:
Settings > Integrations > M365 Backup becomes available for tenant-wide defaults and backing up your own Microsoft 365 tenant.
A Backup tab appears on each customer's company page for per-customer mailbox protection.
Permissions
Two permissions gate the module:
m365backup.view: see backup status and restore points.
m365backup.manage: connect customers, choose mailboxes, trigger backups, and change settings.
Grant these through your roles in Settings > Team.
What's coming
Per-customer onboarding (Microsoft admin consent), mailbox selection, scheduled backups, restore, and metered billing are landing in upcoming releases. Each is gated behind the same module switch, so you can adopt it when you are ready.
How your data is protected
Backups run on concorbit's backup fleet, not in your browser or your app server. The platform never stores your customers' Microsoft credentials: when a backup runs, the system issues a short-lived, read-only, customer-scoped access token just for that run, and writes each customer's mail into storage isolated to that customer.
