Jobs
The Jobs module turns concorbit into a field service management platform for trades: electricians, plumbers, gas engineers, HVAC technicians, and any business that sends people to customer sites to do work.
Unlike tickets (which are reactive support requests worked from a desk), jobs are scheduled visits to a physical location. A job has an address, a technician, a start time, parts, photos, a signature, and a resulting invoice.
Key features
Scheduling and assignment with technician skill matching and capacity checks
Lifecycle tracking from scheduled through dispatched, en route, on site, in progress, completed, and invoiced
On-site workflow with arrive time, work start, parts used, customer signature, and completion
Time tracking per job with billable / non-billable classification
Activity timeline recording every status change, arrival, departure, and update
Auto-invoicing: generate a draft invoice from labour time and parts used in one click
Internal and customer-visible notes for office and technician collaboration
Custom job types with default priorities and SLA targets
Getting started
Enable the Jobs module in Settings > Modules
Create at least one job type in Jobs > Settings > Job types (e.g. "Emergency repair", "Boiler service")
Add your technicians in Jobs > Settings > Technicians with their skills and daily capacity
Create a job from Jobs > New job and assign a technician to get the workflow started
Job lifecycle
Jobs move through these statuses:
Scheduled: job is booked and awaiting dispatch
Dispatched: dispatcher has sent the job to a technician
En route: technician is travelling to the site
On site: technician has arrived and captured arrival time
In progress: technician is actively working
Completed: work is finished, customer signature captured
Invoiced: a draft invoice has been generated from the completed job
Cancelled: the job was cancelled before completion
Status changes are logged as activities on the job timeline with the user who triggered them.
Module requirements
The Jobs module requires the CRM and Billing modules to be active. It is available on the Professional tier.
What Jobs does NOT replace
Jobs is for scheduled, physical work at a customer site. If your work is remote, desk-based, or reactive (a customer has a problem, you fix it without visiting), the Helpdesk module is a better fit. Many businesses run both side by side.
